Abstract
Objective To explore the precaution and treatment measures of complications of peripherally inserted central catheter(PICC).Methods 358 clinical data performed as PICC from March 2008 to October 2011 were analyzed retrospectively.Results The complication were observed in 41 patients among 358 cases with a complication rate of 11.5%,including 9 cases with phlebitis(2.5%),6 cases with catheters related infection(1.7%),6 cases with catheter migration(1.7%),13 case with catheter obstruction(3.6%),7 cases with puncture oozing(2.0%).Through correct treatment measures, all the complications were treated satisfactorily.Conclusions Mastering the skill of PICC strictly and taking effective precaution and treatment measures promptly may significantly decrease the complication incidence rates.
