Abstract

Student learning achievement that has not been maximized is one of the factors that explain the learning difficulties experienced by students. Difficulties can be caused by poor understanding of student concepts. One identification of concept understanding by measuring students’ ability to deal with physical problems using a multiple representation model. This study aims to describe the profile level of understanding of DC circuit concepts based on multiple representation models. This research is a descriptive qualitative type. The population is physics semester 4 students from the Universities of Jakarta and Bengkulu with a sample of 90 students. The results obtained are based on the average percentage of students’ understanding of concepts 30.8% and the ability of students to answer multiple representation questions 31.4%. Understanding the concept, the DC circuit material in the form of series and parallel is still low and has not been maximally fulfilled for all students.Student learning achievement that has not been maximized is one of the factors that explain the learning difficulties experienced by students.
