Abstract

Background and Aims: Human serum preβ1-HDL has been defined by 2-dementional gel and apoA-I immuno-blotting (2-D). Preβ1-HDL should have anti-atherosclerosis property, since it plays roles in HDL production and reverse cholesterol transport. However, there are still debatable questions for its quantification by 2-D and its clinical relevance, because reports indicated that 2-D determined preβ1-HDL is a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Thus, preβ1-HDL needs to be re-evaluated precisely.
