Abstract

New veterinary graduates can be helped by guidance for thera­peutic decision-making when using antimicrobial drugs in bovine practice. Aspects to be considered include empirical therapy in the absence of a definitive diagnosis, governmental regulations, client compliance, therapeutic indications, cost, food safety, and extra-label drug administration.
