Abstract
Fifty neonates with gestational ages 27–34 GW, hospitalized between 2009 and 2010 were included in the study. Group I received 2 g/kg protein and 1 g/kg lipid during the 1st day, group II received 3 g/kg protein and 2 g/kg lipid during the 1st day, with an increment of 1 g/kg/day, 4 g/kg protein–3 g/kg lipid levels were reached. The weekly weight, height and head circumference, fluid, protein, lipid and energy intakes, and the time to reach their birth weights, time to full enteral feeding, TPN duration were recorded. At postnatal 40th week serum levels of IGF-1 ve IGFBP-3 were determined.
