Abstract

In this paper we investigate the power transfer of electromagnetic (EM) waves through the two proposed waveguides, which are made on the basis of unit cell of wire media (WM) made by the classical and printed circuit board method. WM is a type of metamaterial. During the number of investigations, a series of computer simulations were performed, during which the results of S-parameters of the energy distribution of electromagnetic waves were obtained. The waveguides operate in the sub-GHz frequency range and show the possibility of their application for a wide frequency range (up to ∼1 GHz). Experimental studies were carried out to confirm the results of computer simulations. The obtained results will be useful for the development of simple broadband waveguides.
