Abstract

Due to the expanding scale of power system and the access of HVDC and FACTS devices, independent electromagnetic transient simulation and electromechanical transient simulation begin to show their limitations. However, the electromagnetic-electromechanical transient hybrid simulation can expand the simulation scale, and improve the simulation speed and accuracy, which has important theoretical value and practical engineering significance. In this paper, the electromechanical transient simulation program is completed by C programming language, and the electromechanical transient user-defined module is developed in PSCAD. The function calling of electromechanical transient simulation program by EMTDC is realized through interface program that is developed based on Fortran programming language. This paper expounded the interface equivalent circuits of electromagnetic and electromechanical side, and built a hybrid simulation system through connecting electromagnetic transient subsystem and the user-defined module of electromechanical side. Through the comparison between the simulation results of the proposed hybrid simulation and pure electromagnetic model, the correctness of hybrid simulation method based on PSCAD is verified.
