Abstract

Recently, media have been ubiquitous and influential means in a global world. The significance of media is not static in its meaning only as disseminating information and communication, but it also influences the individual’s socio-political behaviour by sharing socio-political and cultural events. However, media involvement in politics is not directly influenced but affects almost all political concepts of each type of political system, particularly in a democratic system. All politics is about power. Power is a fundamental concept in political discourse. ‘Fourth Estate’ refers to the ‘Power’ of media, which manifests the capability of encouragement and implicit ability to frame political issues. The transformation of the power of political parties, institutional growth, political socialisation, the polarisation of political activities and agenda-setting in the political behaviour of individuals towards political power makes an excellent status for the demonstration of media’s power in political discourse. This research paper delves into the intricate relationship between power politics and media, exploring how political actors leverage media platforms to exert influence, shape public opinion, and consolidate power. The present study is purely qualitative, and the method of data and information is based on secondary source material.
