Abstract
A green base station with a cylindrical flexible photovoltaic (PV) module mounted to a telecommunication pole is developed. The present paper proposes a method for calculating the power output of the cylindrical flexible PV module mounted to a telecommunication pole and describes the effects of the setting position of the PV module and height to diameter ratio of the pole on its power output taking into account the self-shading ratio. To accurately calculate the self-shading ratio requires the module height to be divided into at least 20 segments in the same angle of the setting pole. If the value of setting pole height divided by the pole diameter increase and the flexible PV module set high position, the power output increase. The annual power output per unit area is change by the total setting cylindrical flexible PV module angle. If the system is located at lower latitude, the annual power output per unit area of the north side of the PV module is higher.
