Abstract

The numerical investigation of the output power of the electromagnetic radiation of a relativistic electron beam with a virtual cathode in the presence of external magnetic field has been carried out. The typical dependencies of the output microwave power of a relativistic vircator model versus external magnetic field have been analyzed by means of 3D electromagnetic simulation in CST Particle Studio. It has been shown that the output power of the vircator demonstrates several maxima with external magnetic field growth. The character features of the power behavior is determined by the conditions of a virtual cathode formation in the presence of external transversal magnetic field and REB self-magnetic fields.
