Abstract

This paper proposes power generation from footsteps using piezo electronic sensors. The major issue our country is facing is adequate power generation and its distribution to households and industries. Nowadays numerous power resources are present both in non-renewable and renewable forms, but still, it is not sufficient to meet the power requirements. This paper exploits the human population as one of the resources and power generation is done from the walking or running activities of human beings and using the piezoelectric effect. The generated power is then stored and utilized for driving small power devices. This method is very effective when installed at places where people’s movement is dense.
