Abstract

As usual for a developing country, in India too with the high rate of growth in demand of electric energy, commensurate with addition of generation, it requires expansion necessary, this important sector of infrastructure, hitherto built, owned and operated mainly by state-owned power utilities, has been opened up to private entrepreneurs. Though there are associated problems, both technical and commercial, market opportunities exists for investment.
