Abstract
The electrical method is field-proven effective to detect and locate leaks in the liners at landfills. The principle of this method is by measuring the potential distribution patterns above or under the liner to locate the leaks. If placing some detection electrodes under the liner in advance, the landfill can be detected at any time when it is in service. In this paper, we designed the power control unit for the real-time detection system. The singlechip ATMEGA128 was select as the core of the power control unit. The periphery circuits were introduced in detailed. At present, the system has been successfully applied to actual landfills. The running results showed that the power control unit met the design requirements.
