Abstract
The study was conducted to find a portrait of the life of the Togutil tribe and the use of forest products in the form of medicines that are used as their daily needs. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The purpose of descriptive research is to describe and understand the behavior patterns of a community as it is in the context of wholeness or a unified whole, and the results of the study show that the existence of the Togutil tribe is still highly dependent on the forest. The use of medicines is hereditary knowledge which is still maintained because it is proven by what is directly accepted by the community.

Summary
Warga suku Togutil di desa Labi-labi yang tidak pernah sekolah lebih tinggi dari pada yang menamatkan pendidikan SD, maupun yang belum menamatkan bahkan yang belum menginjak bangku pendidikan (Tabel 3). Hal ini disebabkan karena Suku Togutil adalah suku terasing yang terdapat di Pulau Halmahera dan hidup di hutan. Anak-anak suku Togutil mulai mengenal dunia pendidikan, meskipun masih sebatas Sekolah Dasar. Dengan adanya pengaruh pendidikan ini,anak-anak suku Togutil memiliki keinginan dan citacita. Hal ini memengaruhi cara dan kebiasaan belajar anak-anak suku Togutil. Kebiasaan belajar yang baik tidak mampu dibentuk dalam waktu yang singkat satu hari atau satu malam, tetapi dibutuhkan proses yang cukup lama atau secara perlahan-lahan
