Abstract

Drosophila venezolana, n. sp., and a new form of Drosophila serido Vilela and Sene (1977) are described. They are South American members of the Drosophila mulleri complex. Each of these species is capable of exchanging genes with other members of the complex, D. venezolana with D. starmeri of the D. martensis cluster, and D. serido with both D. borborema and D. buzzatii of the D. buzzatii cluster.
