Abstract

purpose of the article is to investigate the manifestation of postmodern trends in contemporary Ukrainian ballet theater through the example of the ballet The Nutcracker by Р. Tchaikovsky – R. Poklitaru. Analyzing the ballet performances, the author sets objective to trace the transformation of the original ballet and to identify the main trends in interpretative processes, that help to realize the idea of choreographer-interpreter. research methodology is based on a combination of several research methods. Structural and functional method allows to see a ballet in the unity of its structural elements, which perform different functions. Philosophical and cultural approach is used to identify the specifics of the implementation of post-modern philosophical ideas in a modern ballet theater. Comparative-historical method is used to study the transformation of the original ballet in the process of interpretation compared to the original. Scientific novelty. For the first time, through the example of the ballet The Nutcracker by P. Tchaikovsky – R. Poklitaru, there was made an attempt to determine the nature of the influence of the ideas of postmodernism in Ukrainian contemporary ballet. author pays special attention to the analysis of peculiarities of interpretative processes in the works of R. Poklitaru. Conclusions. In the process of interpretation of a classical ballet choreographer creates his own reality, in which the author's text is changed in accordance with the contemporary social and artistic concept and finds new meanings of the work, which are determined by his world outlook. Ukrainian postmodern ballet based on the experience of European art, is developing its own way, creating original postmodern ballet performances.
