Abstract
Objective: To determine long-term functional capacity after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery in patients who completed phase 2 only and patients who completed both phase 2 and phase 3 cardiac rehabilitation (CR). Design: Retrospective study. Setting: Hospital-based CR. Participants: 106 male patients after CABG. Group 1 consisted of 39 patients who completed phase 2 and phase 3 CR, age 67.1±8.5 years. Group 2 included 67 patients who completed phase 2-only CR, age 66.9±9.0 years. Interventions: Phase 2 CR was 10 weeks, thrice a week, 60 minutes of supervised exercise to achieve target heart rates according to the Karvonen method.
