Abstract

A 49 year old man was admitted with a one year history of left iliac fossa pain. The patient referred to pelvic injury in the same region 15 years previously. As an incidental finding, an arteriovenous fistula (AVF; white arrow) was detected on computed tomography angiography (CTA; A). After selective catheterisation of the left internal iliac artery, the feeding branches to the AVF were embolised using detachable coils (Interlock; Boston Scientific, Natick, MA, USA) of variable diameter (4–15 mm) and length (black arrows; B). The patient made an excellent recovery and remains stable at six months under CTA surveillance.Image 1
