Abstract

The results of experiments on possible reduction of soil allelotoxicity level for grain crops are presented. It was found that autoclaving of soils significantly reduces their allelotoxicity, while transmission of weak electric current through the soil, as well as soil freezing and lime application do not really affect their allelotoxicity. A significant decrease in soil allelotoxicity may be achieved by applying manure, whey, and their mixtures. Their efficiency reaches a maximum 14 days after application and then the allelotoxicity of the soil gradually begins to recover. Soddy-podzolic soil has a faster restoration of allelotoxicity in comparison with gray forest soil and chernozem. This fact can be considered as an evidence of a certain level of allelotoxicity supported by soil microorganisms.
