Abstract

An overview of today’s possibilities of space-resolved solid-state speciation is given. The various methods are grouped in photon probe techniques and electron probe techniques. Ion probe techniques and stylus techniques do not carry direct information related to speciation. However, under certain circumstances they also can yield valuable information on speciation. Three practical examples are shown to demonstrate today’s possibilities of space-resolved solid-state speciation.
