Abstract
The proton accelerator at the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Institute for Nuclear Research provides a mode of irradiation of biological samples with a single pulse when the average dose rate coincides with the pulse dose rate and approaches 1 · MGy s−1. The proton beam facility is described, along with the technique of local film dosimetry used for irradiating cell cultures in laboratory plates. The radiation characteristics of each well in the plates are determined, as are the record values of the dose rate for protons.
