Abstract

Article describes a new trend in the theory of organization and management, defined as Positive Organizational Scholarship (POS). The main goal of this trend is to highlight positive aspects of the organization, contributing to the development and success, instead of focusing on counteraction of organizational inefficiencies and dysfunction. The article attempts to prove that this approach is consistent with the evolution of the theory and concept of modern management and reflects modern trends in this area. The essence of POS has been presented. The relationship between this concept and the trend of positive psychology, attributing a significant impact on the development of this approach, has been discussed. The evolution and characteristics of the management theory and concepts has been presented. In the last part of the article modern concepts of management using the same assumptions as POS have been characterized.
