Abstract

The purpose of the research is to study the development of the parish school of the late XIX – early XX centuries and to identify negative and positive aspects in its activities. The article studies the reasons for the need to create a system of parish education, analyzes the material support of these educational institutions, analyzes the level of professional qualification of the pedagogical staff in them. The scientific novelty of the study is as follows: in pedagogical science various variants are put forward for building an optimal model of education designed to solve the problems of the younger generation, therefore, against the background of the modernization of education, which politicians, public figures and teachers talk about, it is a good idea to turn to the pedagogical experience of previous years, analyze it and understand what can be useful in today's realities.
