Abstract
An efficient vascular access is the mainstay for successful haemodialysis. Central venous Catheter is a good choice, especially when urgent Dialysis is needed either at the time of initiation or when a permanent access becomes dysfunctional. Tunneled Dialysis Catheters have evolved as the first choice due to their low risk of infection and longer survival. Newer catheter tip designs claim to offer better flow, lower re circulation and longer catheter life. The present retrospective analysis is aimed at comparing “Step-tip” and “Symmetric” catheter designs.
