Abstract

Abstracts ZnTiO3 rods have been prepared successfully using a facile self-assembly method as lithium storage material for the first time. The as-prepared ZnTiO3 rods show uniform particle size distribution a diameter of 300–500 nm and a length of a few microns. CV tests show that ZnTiO3 material undergoes a lithium intercalation/conversion mixed reaction mechanism, and the conversion reaction mechanism is predominant. The as–prepared ZnTiO3 rod delivers lithiation high specific capacities of 405, 269, 223, 193, 173, 166 mAhg−1 at current densities of 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 mA g−1, respectively, revealing an outstanding rate capability. The ZnTiO3 rod also shows a good cycle stability with a reversible capacity of 200 mAh g−1 at 500 mA g−1 after 200 cycles. These results indicate that the as-prepared ZnTiO3 rods can be expected to be a hopeful negative electrode material for Li-ion batteries.
