Abstract
Porphyria is a rare genetic disease, as a result of a disorder in the synthesis of haeme molecules that play a role in the production of haemoglobin, which is necessary for the transport of oxygen. Among the acute forms, the most common is acute intermittent porphyria. The most fre- quent symptoms include abdominal pain, nausea, consti- pation, vomiting, diarrhoea, tachycardia, etc. In this case presentation, the progress of the surgical treatment of the patient with acute intermittent porphyria is described, with all the preparatory measures to prevent the complica- tions of the general disease.
