Abstract
Regional variations of the A, blood group gene frequency were studied in the county of Västerbotten in northern Sweden. The IA2 frequency was significantly higher in the northwestern part of the area, which most likely is due to the Lappish admixture. The estimate of the coefficient of inbreeding measuring regional differentiation (FST) was rather high and in agreement with estimates from previous studies of this population.
