Abstract

A spectral investigation of the cyclotron absorption and amplification of germanium light holes in strong crossed electric and magnetic fields has been made. It is shown that cyclotron generation is possible due to separation of the amplification and absorption frequencies. The cyclotron emission gain has also been measured, and found to be about 0.24 cm-1.
