Abstract
Objective To explore the application effect of standardized SOP of intravenous therapy nursing technology in primary hospitals. Methods From May 2016 to April 2018, according to the Nursing Practice Standards for Intravenous Therapy promulgated by the National Health and Family Planning Committee, the standardization procedure (SOP) for hospital intravenous therapy nursing techniques was formulated to carry out training assessment and implementation of nursing staff in the hospital. The SOP was standardized for intravenous therapy nursing techniques, and the quality of intravenous therapy in the hospital, complications, and the maintenance of the tools during the intravenous treatment before and after the implementation were compared. Results The incidence of error in the intravenous therapy after the implementation was significantly lower than that before the implementation, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). The pass rate of the infusion tools usage after the implementation was significantly higher than that before the implementation, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). The treatment satisfaction of patients after the implementation was significantly higher than that before the implementation, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion The standardized SOP of intravenous therapy nursing technology can be used in primary hospitals, which can significantly improve the quality of care of infusion therapy and the pass rate of infusion tools usage, reduce the incidence of intravenous infusion treatment errors, and improve patient satisfaction. It is worth further promotion and application. Key words: Intravenous therapy; Standardized SOP; Primary hospital; Quality of intravenous therapy; Complication
