Abstract

Two polymorphs of heterometallic Bi/Cu complex, (1-Me-3,5-ClPy)2[Bi2Cu2I10] (1–2), were obtained. They feature differences in connectivity patterns in their anionic parts. By means of X-ray diffraction, features of crystal packing were studied. These two compounds were also investigated by differential scanning spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis, confirming that there are no thermally induced 1-to-2 phase transitions. Band gaps, determined via diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, are 1.85 eV for both compounds.
