Abstract

Materials with excellent qualities for a variety of applications in a variety of work environment are continuously being sought by the industries. Polymer materials have increasingly displaced other materials throughout many applications. Although polymer materials have proven useful in a variety of applications from their beginnings, a lack of knowledge about these materials is limiting their utilization. Composite materials have overcome most of the constraints of polymers. During the past two decades, the utilization of composite materials has risen significantly. Composite materials have a far higher specific strength and specific modulus than their metallic equivalents. In contrast to metal and ceramic matrix composites, polymer-based composites are the most common. Because of their excellent qualities and relatively simple processing. It is common practice to employ polymer-based composites in industries since these materials have strong mechanical characteristics and low density. A wide range of industrial sectors relies on polymer-based composites from automobiles to sporting to packaging sectors. This study illustrates the primary application areas of polymer matrix composites and their value to human progress. A review of current advancements in polymer matrix composites (PMC) with their applications is presented in this article.
