Abstract

Will it be possible to deliver an entire course of antituberculosis chemotherapy via biodegradable polymer implants? It looks like the answer is yes. This may require a small number of doses, or a single implant may be enough. Either way, this new approach to tuberculosis treatment could prove extremely useful in reducing noncompliance. Details of research into this new approach were presented at the Global Conference on Lung Health [Mainz, Germany; June 1994].
