Abstract
Polyethylene glycol hydrogel was introduced as a dermal filler in 2008 by Scientech Corporation – Italy (REMAKE®). Polyethylene glycol has been shown to be an excellent option to treat signs of facial aging and provide facial enhancement, with long-term results and few reports of complications. With aging, the face undergoes significant changes that include thinning of the epidermis, loss of skin elasticity, atrophy of muscle, and subcutaneous fat, and all of them result in volume loss. In addition to facial aging, the aging process of hands is a complex event and multiple factors contribute to it. Volume restoration with dermal fillers has become a treatment option for these areas. This chapter will dicuss the use of polyethylene glycol as a dermal filler in facial and hand rejuvenation.
