Abstract

AbstractIn this work, we report the design of a new class of core–shell superstructure consisting of Pt nanocube assemblies (NCAMs) as the active core and polyaniline (PANI) as the protective and conductive shell as a highly efficient methanol oxidation reaction (MOR) electrocatalyst. The assembly feature of the nanocubes and the unique π‐conjugated structure of PANI make PANI‐coated Pt NCAMs a promising candidate as a catalyst for the MOR that is generally more active and stable than uncoated Pt NCAMs and commercial Pt/C. At the same time, the PANI‐coated Pt NCAMs exhibit high stability during long‐term potential cycles. This work provides a unique assembly strategy to boost the catalytic activity and stability of electrocatalysts further.
