Abstract

Abstract New complexing polymers bearing pyridine rings and carbonyl groups in the main chain have been investigated. Linear poly(amide-ester)s were obtained from 2,6-pyridine dicarboxylic acid and ethanolamine derivatives. They were synthesized by ring opening of a bisoxazoline of this diacid by glutaric acid. The bulk polycondensation at 200°C has been investigated by following the reaction kinetics by SEC. The macromolecular structures have complexing groups (pyridine ring and carbonyl groups) in the main chain. The synthesized polycondensates are insoluble in water.
