Abstract
This article aims to outline the profile of violence perpetrated against women in the Baixada Fluminense of the State of Rio de Janeiro from 2013 to 2016, from the processes underway, aiming to identify the effectiveness of legal protection in practice, and if such processes achieve the objective of protecting women in situations of violence, whether domestic or gender. For this, the present study proposes to articulate the gender perspective to the analysis on violence in its legal, social and cultural dimensions. The study of the daily violence against women in the Baixada Fluminense allows us to know the multifaceted reality of women in their different contexts and have access to data that may contribute to the construction of the theoretical framework of the area, which, in turn, can subsidize public policies with a gender perspective.
