Abstract
Abstract POLITICAL SOCIALIZATION: Although socialization is a fairly well known concept to students in the social sciences and especially in sociology, political socialization, however, is a less familiar field of study. Yet it is rather important that the necessary research on political socialization should be done in South Africa. In this paper an effort is made to point out certain fundamental aspects concerning political socialization, of which the most important are: The relationship between political culture and political socialization; certain theories of political socialization; the political content of socialization; how and when politics is learned; and finally agents of political socialization.
