Abstract

This chapter offers an historical overview of policy transfer in education as a central theme in the fields of comparative education and education policy. The analysis identifies continuities and discontinuities in different historical moments in terms of who are the main actors that participate in processes of policy transfer, processes through which ideas about education move and are recontextualized, and the kind of theoretical approaches that were/are used in the literature to interpret policy transfer in education.
