Abstract

Abstract This chapter focuses on select policies that protect the rights of older adults in relation to many of the above objectives. It begins by discussing those policies that prohibit employment discrimination due to age. It also addresses various policies that indirectly promote the civil rights of older adults by making discrimination based on disability illegal. In addition, the chapter addresses grandparents' rights, the patient's bill of rights, and the right to be free from abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
