Abstract

Abstract The author argues that polemology, the science of war, is much more advanced than irenology, the science of peace. A plea is made for more and better studies in the field of irenology. With reference to polemology some remarks are made on a few definitions of war, the initiation and ending of war, the reasons for war, the history of war, the benefits of war and, finally, the concept of non-violence.
