Abstract

Titanocene dichloride, Cp 2TiCl 2, cyclopentadienyltitanium trichloride, CpTiCl 3, and compounds of the type Cp 2Ti(Cl)OAr, Cp 2Ti(OAr)(OAr′). CpTi(OAr) 3 (Ar, Ar′, substituted benzene rings) have been investigated polarographically and by linear potential sweep voltammetry in dimethyl-formamide. Cp 2TiCl 2 shows a third wave, which had not been hitherto reported, at very negative potentials. The reduction mechanism of the different compounds is examined in detail.
