Abstract
The creation of magnetic, thin-film multilayered structures has led to a number of valuable applications in polarized neutron scattering. Perhaps the best known example is the use of supermirrors in neutron spin echo spectroscopy. Supermirrors and novel epitaxially grown, single-crytal multilayer polarizers are described as well as the results of some interesting polarized neutron diffraction studies of the magnetic properties of synthetic superlattices.
