Abstract

Abstract Light scattering spectra in the (001) plane have been studied near the transition temperature, Tc, in the 0–8 cm−1 frequency range. The relaxation time increases smoothly by an order of magnitude from KDP to DKDP depending on the concentration x. The relaxation time in DKDP depends on the direction of the scattering wave vector q. The dynamical central peak is observed in the VV scattering geometry near q//[100] in the near vicinity of Tc. All results are analyzed by regarding a crystal as “polarization relaxational mode-acoustic phonon coupled system”.
