Abstract

It is shown that nuclear three-body potentials involve spin operators of a type not allowed for ordinary two-body [ital NN] interactions. The effect of these operators on the wave function for proton-induced deuteron breakup is discussed, and a class of polarization observables is identified that may have enhanced sensitivity to the three-body forces.
