Abstract

In this paper, a polarization- and frequency-controlled multifunctional coding metasurface is proposed. By combining the cross-shaped and quasi-I-shaped metallic structures, a dual-frequency element is constructed to empower four independent functionalities in four polarization channels in two distinct frequency bands. To validate the four independent polarization channels on a shared aperture, a multifunctional metasurface is designed by integrating beam deflection with different deflection angles for two orthogonal linear polarization in X-band and generation of twin vortex beams with different modes for two circular polarization in Ku-band.
