Abstract
This paper presents polarimetric response from conifer and broad-leaf tree at Ku-band in anechoic chamber. A fully polarimetric measurement was conducted under precisely controlled environment to examine the difference of scattering nature from trees at 13–17 GHz. Polarimetric responses using the 4-component scattering power decomposition and alpha bar angle by eigenvalue analysis yielded clear distinction between these tree types. It was confirmed that fully polarimetric information with high-resolution data provides good separation of these trees.
