Abstract
This research was conducted to determine the parenting patterns of parents in forming the independence of adolescents in Kampung Gebang RT 001 RW 002 Periuk Tangerang District. This research uses a phenomological approach so that researchers can capture various problems that exist in society and reveal a meaning in the problem, because this research emphasizes understanding of problems that exist in social life. The result is that the parenting style applied by parents is a democratic parenting style, that is, giving freedom to the child but there is still proper control for the child, 2. Factors supporting children's independence are family, busy parents, availability of facilities, agreements between children and parents, and being the first child. Factors inhibiting children's independence are: laziness, being too pampered, lack of confidence and parents' words.
