Abstract

To test feasibility and acceptability of online delivery of Alexander technique (AT)-based group course to improve functional mobility, anxiety, and motor symptoms for people living with Parkinson's (PWP); to strengthen the PWP/care partner dyad; and to counter social isolation. AT is a somatic practice in embodied cognition combining inhibition, improved body schema, and goal awareness in ways that enhance performance of daily activities while increasing confidence. One-to-one, in-person AT lessons can reduce motor symptoms in PWP but may be unavailable or cost-prohibitive.
