Abstract

Integration of different energy networks can play a key role to solve sustainable energy development problems in the future energy network based on the economic and environmental aspects. Hence, proposing a new structure of a multi-energy system can be so essential in dealing with sustainable energy concerns. This paper gives a new structure of a multi-energy system considering multi-generation energy storage (MGES) as an energy hub, and the operation of the proposed energy hub and the optimization of the system's performance are investigated. Hence, the high-temperature heat and power storage (HTHPS) system, as a novel MGES unit, is firstly proposed for a local integrated energy system (IES) with different energy carriers, and the system model is developed based on that. Then, a novel stochastic energy scheduling scheme for this energy system is given by applying a 2-point estimation method. The proposed MGES can supply local energy demands through local renewable resources generation, as well as upstream energy networks, by considering a competitive energy market. Finally, the performance of the proposed energy hub is investigated by simulating and its effectiveness is proved in increasing the renewable generation penetration.
