Abstract

This article deals with the problem of the poetics of the first historical novel in Kyrgyz literature by the Tolegen Kasymbekov “The Broken Sword”. Particular attention is paid to the description of the means of artistic expression, through which the author of the novel managed to most fully and convincingly show the time of palace intrigues and coups in the Kokand Khanate; the hard life of the simple Kyrgyz people under the yoke of the Kokand people. The article explores such an essential component of the text as an artistic detail, as well as the skill of a writer who knows how to create characteristic details.
